About
The Legoland Times is a printed and online newspaper for Legoland solely owned by media mogul and millionaire minifig, Mr Prints. The Mr Prints Group was formed in the late 1980s and made significant profits in the advertisement industry sector in the early 1990s. The Group has had a monopoly on all paper-based advertising in the Lego nation since its formation.
The company continues to controls the vast majority of the printed media in Legoland. Top publications currently sold include Lego News, The Financial Times, UASL Global and the sports magazine launched in 2007, Sports for Minifigs. Sales of these publications are however low in comparison with those of The Legoland Times, the group's flagship newspaper.
The Legoland Times is considered one of the more reliable and respected news sources for the nation despite its 2007 slogan "Legoland's Most Unreliable News Source". In 2006, the newspaper's management decided to launch an on-line version of the paper hosted by Bravenet. The website is the primary window into the Legoland world for minifigs from other Lego nations.
Papers previously produced by the Mr Prints Group but now no longer published include The Lego Times, Tuttosport, and the Gazzetta dello Sport.
On 28th February 2008, The Brick Times name was chosen as a pre-empetive measure against any future request to rename The Legoland Times.
