Robin Rangers Back In The Big Time As LFA Axe Trio

View Photo Database Castleland giants Robin Rangers are back in the national league's top flight after the football association decided to expel Ravenna as part of their continued cull of Italian-Lego clubs. Joining Ravenna are Cagliari and Empoli who have also been shown the door in somewhat uncerimonious circumstances. Cagliari's fate came as some surprise as the club won the inaugural, and only ever, La Coppa Castleland in 1994 but despite this the LFA have confirmed their decision not to renew their license. LFA president Mr Fifa thanked the trio for their involvement in Legoland football over the years, before somewhat bizarrely commenting that their departure was “good riddance”.

Robin Rangers coach Radomir Antic said he was delighted at the news and thanked the LFA for doing "something good for Castleland football, for once". As part of the deal the club have agreed not to pursue any compensation for players who departed the club over the Summer months after invoking relegation-release clauses in their contracts. Antic agreed that the club may have a hard time this season but he was nonetheless confident of survival. "Finishing third from bottom was pretty dreadful and genuinely a surprise for us. We like to think that we are a big club and I think other sides in the division feel we are one. Next season will be tough but I feel with a couple of signings we will have the quality to do better than just survive. We hope to come away with something on Sunday against Republic”.

Rangers may nevertheless find signing players difficult as the club's coffers are understood to be close to empty and the deadline for signing players is midnight tomorrow, Saturday 25th August.

In the Castleland city of Rome, Mrs Sega's Lazio have hired a football consultant to carry out emergency preparations for the upcoming season. Mr Fixus Calculus will earn a £100,000 salary to "remove the retards" at the club and “bring in some promising and talented players”. Retard and Target Number 1 is believed to be one Paolo Di Canio according to sources close to Mr Calculus. It is also understood that Calculus will attempt to buy-out the contract of Emperor Eagles' highly rated forward Simone Inzaghi, who moved from Legoland FC in the pre-season but is reportedly already at loggerheads with Eagles' boss Walter Novellino over his hair-cut. "I have told Simone that we don't want gay hair-cuts at Emperor Eagles", said Novellino, who rejected suggestions that he might be homophobic. "I don't care what some mini-figs do in their own homes but we don't want players with homosexual hair".

Meanwhile, with a new football season close to commencing once again, newly appointed national coach Curious Decisionus has suggested he will give a number of debuts in next weeks friendly fixture against Sandland. According to the Sports for Minifigs magazine, Legoland United duo Andrea Coda and Fabio Quagliarella and Legoland FC's Filippo Savi will likely make the cut.

Does Inzaghi have homosexual hair? Should he even be allowed play at Lazio?
