The contractors in question, the state owned Nacional Construcción, were bemused at this turn of events, adding, “El Presidente asks the impossible of us. Surely when work began, sufficient materials to enable us to finish the work should have been organised.”
This is only one of a number of setbacks to the Legañan president, with the former holder of this office, Gerald de Lopez,
and his Red-shirt militia having been sighted more frequently on the outskirts of Santa Maria. Rumours suggest that Mr. Lopez wishes to challenge for the office he was ousted from back in February.

In Legaña, construction work has ground to a halt on Hospital de la Santa Maria. Sources close to El Presidente say that a lack of raw materials is to blame, citing recent mismanagement of funds allocated to the project. President Cuahchic of Legaña has been unusually quiet of late, with his spokesman, Juan Portavoz, quoted as saying, “Work on the hospital was well under way, when a lack of materials for the hospital roof meant the contractors could not complete the building in the allocated time. These are currently on order, and as soon as they arrive work will recommence to complete the state-of-the-art medical facility.”
Is President Cuahchic to blame for the lack of materials? Should be ousted before it is too late?
