The fire-fight began at approximately 5.22pm and is believed to have lasted around 20 minutes. The survivors claim they were attacked by nearly 15 of de Lopez’ irregulars, of which they think a handful were injured. No fatalities are believed to have occurred. All 5 of the Special Forces team escaped unharmed, and were thankful for their superior training which enabled them to defeat a larger enemy force. “Our gruelling training was finally put to good use”, said Pvt. Soldado, “we were outnumbered but when the rebels saw us in action they ran for the hills”, he continued.

This evening, Legañan special forces successfully repelled an ambush at Victoria Canyon by Gerald de Lopez’ Red-shirts. The elite team of 5 were on a routine patrol on the outskirts of Santa Maria when they found themselves under fire from all directions. Thanks to the quick thinking of Capt. Accion, the patrol managed to fight a rear-guard action to cover, where they triumphantly held off the enemy attack.
This is sure to be a dent in the pride of Mr. de Lopez, who looks like he wants to disrupt the current stability of the region in an attempt to take advantage of the ensuing confusion. It is up to men like Accion and Soldado to ensure this does not happen to the currently peaceful state of Legaña.
Is Legaña likely to end up in full-scale civil war for the second time this year?
