LEGANA-The Legñan owner of Fiorentina, Ricardo Rico, has issued a press statement today backing manager Cesare Prandelli and assuring fans that results at the club are set to improve.
Following an encouraging start to the season, Fiorentina have struggled to find form of late and are now lying 8th from bottom in Serie A heading into a tricky away tie to Celebs. With their hopes of avoiding relegation still very much alive, Rico added, “The fans knew this season would be a tough one, we are looking to add some financial stability to the club and make sure we are playing Serie A football next year. The fans have been incredibly patient, and I’d like to thank them for their continual support. Without them, the club are nothing.”
Businessfig Rico refused to comment on the recent rift between managerfig Prandelli and himself, his only thoughts on the matter being, “I met recently with the team and with Cesare. He has apologised to the fans and promises to work extra hard to help the club with staying in Serie A. Our relationship was never compromised, Cesare made a decision he quickly regretted and we’re over that now. We look to the future with an open mind.”
When pressed with a matter closer to his heart, Rico flared up, “I think it is a disgrace that Legoland FC and Legoland United want the Lego Outer European Cup scrapped. Football in my country is just beginning to take off, and losing this competition would be a big blow to our international prestige. We want to be taken seriously in the footballing community and the only way this will be achieved is by giving us the experience in these competitions. LFC and LU need a kick up their collective back-studs for making such immature comments.”
