Famous for being despised by the ruler of Eland, King Edward, Foggia were otherwise relatively inconspicuous on the football field until their promotion into Serie A for their first time in 2004. Narrowly avoiding relegation in their first season in Serie A, Foggia improved the following year and finished in a very respectable 10th place.
In September 2006 the little devils broke their club record transfer fee by signing Gardinian East defender Fabricio Coloccini for £3m.
Famous players who have lined-out for Foggia include Enrico Chiesa, Savo Milosevic, Claudio and Carlo Cudicini.
