Since being sold by the Legoland Football Association in 1995, Juventus has been owned by Legoland ruler, Emperor David. Formed in 1994, the club have always been among the nation's most famous sides yet despite a large fan base and massive financial backing the club have arguably been among the country's biggest underachievers.
It is on foreign soils however, where Juventus have tasted success. Participating also in the Eland Empire, Juventus dominated Eland football from 1995 onwards. The Turin club landed a record 4 Premier League titles in 6 seasons, 2 Football League Cup titles and a staggering 5 consecutive Charity Shields. The successes in Eland brought international fame to the club and players, however, the additional fixtures brought by participating in a second league worked against the club back home.
Indeed back in Legoland, Juventus's early years were characterised by annual relegation battles and, in 1996, relegation itself. In the 1994/5 season, an administration error saw the club relegated instead of the nation's biggest club team, Legoland FC. Juventus however, did not participate in the 1995/6 Serie B division as the formation of the SuperLeague enabled the Turin giants remain in the top flight. The decision by the LFA to reorganise the Serie A in 1995 drew accusations that Juventus, being the Emperor's favourite side, would never be relegated.
The following season Juventus proved the accusations wrong however, by finishing in second last position, and being demoted to Serie B. The club would spend just one season in the second tier of Legoland football as they earned promotion back to Serie A in the 1996/7 campaign. The 1997/8 season saw the newly promoted side finish in 6th place, their best ever league table position. The 1998/9 season saw Juventus finish in 9th place.
Accusations of corruption and favouritism returned in 2000 after the 1999/0 season saw Juve finish 3rd from bottom. Instead of being relegated the Turin club were granted survival by the LFA's decision to expand the Serie A division from 20 teams to 22. Juve's image was tarnished especially amongst their rivals in the Eland football league.
The expanded Serie A division only just saved Juventus from the drop in the 2001 as the club finished the campaign only a single point and place above the relegation zone.
The club's fortunes have since then improved somewhat and in their final positions in recent seasons have been less
precarious: 2002 (6th), 2003 (15th), 2004 (8th), 2005 (13th) and 2006 a best ever 5th.
